1929 – 2015

AUBURN — Evelyne Poulin-Dupuis of Lewiston passed away peacefully with her son by her side on Tuesday, June 9.

She was born in Notre-Dames-des-Pins, Quebec, Canada, on Nov. 15, 1929, the daughter of Napoleon and Alexandrine (Begin) Poulin. She was a loving mother and devoted wife. Evelyne was a kind and gentle person who loved to cook, garden, travel and care for her family.

She was educated in Canada and graduated from Ecole Normale, a school for teachers. She taught for eight years in Quebec before moving to Lewiston with her family.

On July 9, she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage with her husband, Laurent Dupuis.

Evelyne worked as a bookkeeper for Dupuis and Son Contractors.

She was a faithful Christian and member of Holy Cross Church and Prince of Peace parish.

She is survived by her husband, Laurent; her son, Renaud Dupuis his wife, Deborah, and their children, Hunter and Connor; her daughter, Patty Frechette her husband, David, and their children, Jozef, Allison and Samuel; her son, Jean Dupuis and his children, Adam, Alec, Jacob and Jaime; her daughter, Pauline and her children, Luc, John, Abbie and Abram; sisters-in-law, Marie-Jeanne Poulin Veilleux and Marie-Marthe Poulin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her infant son, Yvan Dupuis; four sisters, Alice Gilbert, Agathe Gilbert, Juliette Dutil and Louise Poulin Routhier; and four brothers, Eugene Poulin, Fabien Poulin, Andrea Poulin and Jean Louis Poulin.
