LEWISTON — Ward 4’s Shane Bouchard said he will seek re-election and his first full term in his City Council seat.

Bouchard was elected in a special vote last November, replacing Doreen Christ who stepped down.

“I have had a great experience the last eight months,” Bouchard wrote in an email. “I’ve learned a lot. I see the potential that Lewiston has and look forward to the opportunity to be a part of it and represent the people of Ward 4.”

Bouchard owns Bouchard Enterprises LLC, the umbrella company for Bouchard Lawn Care and Landscaping, as well as Maine Home Recreation at 705 Sabattus St.

He represents the City Council on the tattoo and tax appeals boards, the Public Works Review Committee, and also served on the Building Committee for Lewiston’s new elementary school.

All of Lewiston’s elected positions are up this November, including the mayor, seven city councilors and eight School Committee members.

Lewiston’s election cycle kicks off July 6. Candidates can begin circulating nomination petitions then and need to complete and return them to the City Clerk’s office by Sept. 4 to receive a spot on the ballot.
