MECHANIC FALLS — The Mechanic Falls Public Library is announcing its Summer Reading Program, Book A Trip: Travel the World Through Books. The program will run June 29 – Aug. 3 with a finale party on Aug. 10. It is open for ages two-to-17 and a variety of programs will take place on Mondays. Registration runs June 13-27. All registrations and reading contracts must be received by June 27 to participate and enter the contests.
The library is offering a pre-school storytime for ages two-to-five, craft time for ages six-to-12 and a teen book group for ages 13-17. The library is encouraging all ages to sign up for the summer reading challenge. If a total of 500 books are read between June 29 and Aug. 3, the librarian will dye her hair blue and purple. There is a space limitation of eight per session; contact the library for session availability.
The contests for registered participants include: How Many Marbles in the Jar, Guess Which Continent is in the Box and Match the Author with the Continent.
