TURNER — Angela Daigle belted an RBI single up the middle in the ninth inning to give Leavitt a 5-4 victory over Nokimis in the teams’ KVAC season finale Wednesday.

Daigle led the Hornets (13-3) with a triple and a single, while Cierra Hilliard chipped in with two hits.

Nokomis (11-5) was paced with Audrey Temple and Libby Donovan with two hits apiece. Abby Robertson picked up the win afer a solid effort in all nine frames.

Spruce Mountain 9, MCI 3

LIVERMORE FALLS — After jumping out to a 8-0 advantage in the first frame, Spruce Mountain never eased off the gas and sped away to post a 9-3 win over MCI in  a regular season softball finale Wednesday.

Emily Keene scattered six hits in seven innings and helped her own cause with three hits and two RBIs. Alex Bessey led the Phoenix (5-11) with four hits, while Megan Duval, Patty Ryan and Haley Perkins each collected two hits.

Edward Little 5, Bangor 4

BANGOR — Emmy Lashua belted an RBI single in the second inning to help give Edward Little a narrow 5-4 win over Bangor in a season-ending KVAC softball matchup Wednesday.

Lashua led the Red Eddies (12-4) with two hits and two RBIs, while Grace Beaudet also belted out two hits.

Skyler Cassum suffered the loss after working the first five frames for Bangor (13-3).

Lisbon 23, Wiscasset 8

LISBON — Monica Austin led a trio of players with multiple RBIs Wednesday as Lisbon overpowered Wiscasset, 23-8.

Ali Sult led the Greyhounds with a two-run triple, while Austin and Loren Grant each collected RBI singles.

The Wolverines were pced by Kayla Gordon with an RBI single, while Tylan Onorator went 1-for-3 at the plate.

Oxford Hills 11, Brunswick 3

BRUNSWICK — Hannah Kenney was the the offensive spark for the Oxford Hills Vikings as they downed the Brunswick Dragons, 11-3, in softball action.

Kenney hit a home run and added two singles while driving home four runs. Teammate Cody Akers added two doubles and a single as the Vikings improved to 11-5 to close out the regular season. Akers also pitched two innings after coming on in relief of starter Erika Whitman.

Alyssa Dunton had a double and two singles for Brunswick.

Baseball

Spruce Mountain 9, MCI 1

LIVERMORE FALLS  — Austin Gilboe scattered three hits in seven innings and drew ample run support as Spruce Mountain capped its 2015 campaign with a 9-1 rout over MCI. 

Caulin Parker led the Phoenix (3-13) with three hits, highlighted by a three-run homer in the sixth inning. Matt Vigue also contributed with a pair of hits. 

Alan Polman led MCI with two hits in the contest. 

St. Dom’s 7, Boothbay 0

AUBURN — Mitch Lorenz, Mike Bryant and Gavin Bates combined forces in a no-hitter Wednesday, strikig out 13 batters and drawing adequate run support as St. Dom’s closed out its 2015 season with a 7-0 shutout over Boothbay. 

Bates led the Saints (11-5) with two hits and three RBIs, while Caleb Labrie belted out three hits and Lorenz added two. 

Monmouth 3, Telstar 0

MONMOUTH — Hunter Richardson scattered three hits, struck out seven and walked just one as Monmouth capped a solid 2015 season with a 3-0 victory over Telstar in MVC baseball action. 

Chandler Harris led the Mustangs (9-7) with two hits, including a sacrifice fly in the first frame that ended up scoring the winning run. 

Tanner Wheeler suffered the loss for Telstar (3-13) after working all seven frames.

Winthrop 4, Madison 1

WINTHROP — Matt Sekerak scattered four hits and drew ample run support as Winthrop hustled to a 4-1 victory over Madison. 

Ben Caprara led the Ramblers (14-2) with two hits and one RBI, while Bennett Brooks went 2-for-2 on the day. 

Madison (8-8) was paced by Tristan Emery with two hits in the contest. 

Leavitt 2, Nokomis 1

TURNER — Nate Ouellette drove in Ian Godfrey in the ninth inning to give Leavitt a 2-1 victory over Nokomis in more regular-season baseball finale action Wednesday.

Julian Kirouac led the Hornets with two hits, highlighted by a double. Mitchel Davis capped his career with a stellar effort on the mound, with 14 strikeouts and three hits allowed. Mike Massow suffered the loss after working the first six frames.  

Falmouth 5, Poland 3

FALMOUTH — Connor Aube and Caleb Ludic belted our RBI singles in the first frame as Falmouth hung on for a 5-3 win over Poland Wednesday. 

Robbie Armitage and Tyler Gee also drove in runs forFalmouth (10-6) in a well-balanced attack. 

The Knights (5-11) were paced by Ben Bernier with an RBI single. Bernier also suffered the loss after working the first four frames.

Oak Hill 8, Edward Little 7

AUBURN — Senior midfielder Alex Mace registered a hat trick Wednesday to lead Oak Hill to a narrow 8-7 victory over Edward Little in a late-season KVAC boys’ lacrosse matchup. 

Steven Gilbert and Matt Gilbert each chipped in for the Raiders with two goals, while a single tally by Kaleb Sturtevant completed the scoring. 

Isaac Cote led the Red Eddies with two goals, while Matt Verrill, Eli McBride, Evan Mancini, Spencer Frahn and Ethan Nadeau als0 tallied. Matty Martin made eight saves for Oak Hill, while Brandon Asselin turned aside five shots for Edward Little.

Girls’ lacrosse

Mt. Ararat 13, Edward Little 7

TOPSHAM — Katie Labbay netted four goals Rebecca Schuman tallied three as Mt. Ararat outgunned Edward Little, 13-7, in a late-season KVAC girls’ lacrosse tilt Wednesday. 

Isa Blessington chipped in for the soaring Eagles (11-1) with two goals, whils single tallies by Alyssa Corit, Allison Nolan, Emily Welch and Lauren Williams completed the scoring. 

Francesca Haines led the Red Eddies (3-9) with four goals, while Danielle Gagne added two. Kaylie Vallee also scored to round out the final tally. Mariah Vaillancourt made 14 saves for Edward Little in a solid perfformance.
