As a Rumford citizen, I am disappointed with the Sun Journal’s poor coverage of the town budget negotiations this year. One would think such coverage was necessary for citizens, since there have been such problems in recent years.
I encourage citizens to seek as much information as possible about the town budget; to think about and question the budget in order to make informed decisions in the short time before the vote on June 9.
Rumford citizens should remember that they are free to think and question the budget because Selectman Mark Belanger has made sure we have the privacy of the secret ballot to vote without pressure or intimidation.
Before and on June 9, I encourage citizens to think, question and vote.
Tom Fallon, Rumford
