WINDHAM (AP) — Maine state police and the state medical examiner are reviewing the death of an inmate at Maine Correctional Center in Windham.
Maine Department of Corrections officials say 67-year-old Harold Frederick Gleason died at 9 p.m. Tuesday. He was from Aroostook County and was serving a 20-year sentence with all but seven years suspended for unlawful sexual contact and gross sexual assault.
Gleason was sentenced in August 2013 and was scheduled for release in November 2018.
Officials say the inquiry into Gleason’s death is consistent with Corrections Department policy and Attorney General’s Office protocols.
