LEWISTON — A memorial service honoring the life of Roy F. Stevens was held Wednesday, May 27, at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home with Deacon John Brennan presiding.

During the service, words of remembrance were shared by Roy’s stepdaughter, Elaine Higgins. The AMVETS followed with a short service as a tribute to Roy, concluding with taps.

After a procession to Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, Deacon Brennan recited committal prayers, followed by a veterans’ prayer service, conducted by the Kennebec Valley Veterans, before military honors. The United States Army honor detail played taps and commenced with a firing detail of 15 volleys, concluding with the presentation of our country’s flag to Roy’s son, Jeff Stevens, in honor of his father’s service to his country during World War II.

The urn bearers were Roy’s grandchildren, Kevin and Marc Farrar, Tracy Grimes and Eric Stevens.

Arrangements by Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home of Lewiston.
