1938 – 2015
TURNER — Arlen Reed Jordan, 77, of Turner, passed away at his home on Sunday morning, May 24, with his children at his side.
He was born in Turner on May 16, 1938, the son of Leroy and Wilma (Reed) Jordan. He attended Turner schools and was a graduate of Leavitt Institute Class of 1956. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Edith “Dianne” Fogg, in 1958, they made their home in Turner Village and raised three wonderful children together. He was active in the Turner Fire Department, Masonic Hall and Snowmobile Club. He was also active as a leader in the growth of Union Local 716. After he found his talent in plumbing, he eventually entered the plumbing/pipefitting welding union. He worked on projects throughout the New England states for 35 years.
Arlen enjoyed outdoor activities at his camp in Eustis and later at his winter home in Leesburg, Fla. He shared his passion for fun with his children, grandchildren and anyone else who was willing to join in.
He is survived by his mother, Wilma of Turner; his three children, Linda Ames, Alison Durgin and her husband, Brian, and Ken Jordan and his wife, Jenn, all of Turner; his sister, Carmen Jenkins of Turner; and a sister-in-law, Kathie Greear and her husband, John. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jessica Ames, Bethany Harlow, Sarah and Ian Durgin, and Carter, Carly, Camden and Cara Jordan.
He was predeceased by his father, Leroy; his loving wife, Dianne; a sister, Janice Millett and her husband, Gordon; and a son-in-law, Brian Ames.
