1942 – 2015

LEWISTON — Sheila Ann Elz, 73, of Lewiston, passed away on Monday, May 18, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.

She was born in Lewiston on May 6, 1942, the daughter of William and Ruth (Allison) Marsden. She attended local schools, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1960, Augusta State Hospital School of Psychiatric Nursing in 1962, Central Maine General School of Nursing in 1963 and Bates College in 1964.

After graduation, she worked as a psychiatric nurse and remained in Lewiston.

Sheila enjoyed classical music and caring for her patients throughout the years.

Sheila is survived by her two daughters, Ann Elizabeth Elz and her husband, Henry Eric Howe, and Deborah Elz Hammond and her husband, Barrett Hammond; two grandchildren, Emma Elz Hammond and Acadia ElzHowe; two brothers, Steven and his wife, Claire Marsden, and Joseph Marsden; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very dear friend, Jereanne Willich.
