LIVERMORE FALLS — The Regional School Unit 73 board approved a new three-year contract with bus drivers and custodians and adopted a new policy governing use of district schools. The actions were taken last week.

Superintendent Kenneth Healey said the contract, which covers at least 40 employees, includes a 0.75 percent salary increase, retroactive from July 1, 2014,  until July 1, 2015; a 1 percent increase from July 1, 2015, through July 1, 2016; and a 1.5 percent increase from July 1, 2016, through July 1, 2017.

In addition, part-time employees will receive one week of vacation after at least one year, and full-time employees will receive 10 days vacation after three years, 15 days vacation after nine years, and 20 days after completing 20 years with the district.

The board also approved a policy on use of school facilities by for-profit groups. It calls for: classroom use, $25 an hour, $50 minimum; cafeteria, gym or library use, $50 an hour, two-hour minimum; athletic fields, $60 per hour daytime and $140 per hour nighttime with lights.

He said nonprofits are charged only for custodial services.

Two regular users are grandfathered: Jan Gill who teaches music lessons, and Weight Watchers.

Those wishing to use part of a school building must contact maintenance director Ken Vining or the building’s administrator.
