AUBURN — Arbor Week discussion titled “Tree, Tea and Talk,” 1:30 p.m., Woman’s Literary Union’s Foss Mansion, 19 Elm St. Lewiston city arborist Steve Murch will give tips about the selection, care and maintenance of trees. Presentation is free, hosted by Lewiston-Auburn Community Forest Board, Woman’s Literary Union of Androscoggin County and the City of Auburn.
LEWISTON — Talk at Bates: “Building a Progressive Agenda to Win: A Conversation with Bates Alumni in Social Movements,” 5 p.m., Hedge Hall 106, Bates College. Panelists are Ben Chin (’07), political director of the Maine People’s Alliance and candidate for Lewiston mayor; Kalila Barnett (’01), executive director of Alternatives for Community and Environment in Boston; Matt Schlobohm (’00), executive director of Maine AFL-CIO and founder of the Maine Fair Trade Campaign. Event is free, open to the public.

AUBURN — Complete Streets meeting, 5 p.m. in the Community Room on the second floor of Auburn Hall. This is for drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists and all users of Twin Cities streets to discuss ideas.
AUBURN — School Committee meeting, 7 p.m., Auburn Hall. Agenda: Update on customized learning and Proficiency Based Learning diploma by Curriculum Director Shelly Mogul.
LEWISTON — BuildMaine Conference Pecha Kucha and Pop-Up Beer Garden, 7 p.m., in the courtyard behind the Baxter Brewing Co. in the Bates Mill complex.
