1923 – 2015

SCARBOROUGH — Yolande Roux Gagne, 91, formerly of 59 Tampa St., Lewiston, and a resident of Birchwoods Assisted Living Community in Portland for the past three years, died Friday, May 8, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House of Scarborough.

Yolande was born in Lisbon on Aug. 22, 1923, the daughter of Roland E. and Eveline Caron Roux. She attended local schools, graduating from Lewiston High School and Bliss Business College. She was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish.

She worked at B. Peck Co. department store for a few years, then worked in the advertising department at the Lewiston Sun Journal for 28 years.

Yolande greatly enjoyed her family and friends. She was an avid reader and gardener and had many hobbies. She had a special place in her heart for animals and birds.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Joan Roux of Portland; two nieces; a nephew; and several cousins.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Birchwoods and Gosnell for all the loving care care they gave Yolande.
