13th Annual Franklin Savings Bank/River Valley Chamber/Rotary Golf Tournament

The River Valley Chamber of Commerce/River Valley Rotary will be hosting the 13th Annual Franklin Savings Bank/River Valley Chamber/River Valley Rotary Golf Tournament on July 14. This event is a wonderful opportunity to come together annually and have a great time golfing, networking and just having fun at the areas’ golf course.

The River Valley Chamber of Commerce would like to request donations for our raffles that will take place at the golf tournament. Ideas of donations include gift certificates or gift baskets.($25 minimum please).

Junior Golf Instruction at Martindale

Our Saturday Junior Golf Program begins on May 23. This program will run for 4-Weeks on Saturday’s with 2 sessions available. Space is limited to the first 12 juniors to register for each session in order to deliver the best professional instruction.

This program is aimed at teaching juniors all of the key elements necessary to playing great golf and enjoying the game. We focus on all aspects of the game with fun competitions, while using V1 Golf “video instruction” to show progress and development. The cost of the spring program is $100.00 (4 Weeks). Auburn Suburban Major Baseball

East Auburn claimed sole possession of first place with a victory over Giffords 12-5 in recent Auburn Suburban Major Baseball action. Four pitchers for East Auburn yielded only four hits in gaining the victory.

Will Cassidy, Campbell Cassidy, Drew Smith and Kade Masselli all toed the rubber for the victors. Will Cassidy struck out four batters in two innings, while brother Campbell whiffed three in his two innings of work. Smith and Masselli each struck out one batter in their respective one inning of work.

Christian Frey, Will Cassidy and Jared Bernard led East Auburn with three hits apiece, with Frey just missing hitting for the cycle with a single, double and triple. Kamden Masselli reached base all four times for East Auburn, scoring three of those four times. Braden Paradie also had a hit for East Auburn. Giffords was led by Luke Josephson with two hits and Nate McBride and Nick Kaiser each knocking out base hits. Josephson reached base and scored all three times he batted. Josephson also made several nifty plays in the field for the ice cream men. East Auburn improved to 4-1, while Giffords slipped to 3-2.
