1935 – 2015
LEWISTON — Norman E. Brackett, 80, passed away on Thursday, May 7, at d’Youville Pavilion.
He was born in Auburn on April 19, 1935, the son of Alfred and Ruth Brackett and was educated in Auburn schools. After finishing school, Norman married his wife of 57 years, Marilyn, in March 1958. Together, they raised their two children, James and David. Norman worked for Rowe Auburn for 22 years before he retired in 1998.
He loved to hunt and fish whenever he had the opportunity, as well as traveling with his wife to Lake Wales, Fla., to spend the winter and be close to his brother, Roger. Norman loved spending time with his “granddaughters” Dottie, Dani and Dee, taking them on day trips whenever he had the opportunity.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; their son, James and his partner, Shammie; son David; his “third son,” Tom; “grandson,” Vinnie; and “daughter,” Henrietta.
