WATERVILLE (AP) — The Maine Warden Service says it has completed its investigation into an apparent hunting accident that injured a Waterville man last week.

Officials say 60-year-old Reginald Jacques was shot in the face and arm by his wife while the two were turkey hunting on May 5.

The Morning Sentinel reported (http://bit.ly/1cRC2lF ) the case will be passed along to the Kennebec County District Attorney’s office for review. Officials say that process is normal procedure.

A Warden Service spokesman says the circumstances in each hunting-related shooting are different.

The couple was headed to the hospital at about 10:30 a.m. when they encountered an officer conducting a traffic stop. The officer alerted emergency personnel, who arrived on the scene and transported Jacques to a hospital.

Jacques was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
