1932 – 2015
HUDSON, Fla. — Evelyn Kuvaja Haverinen, 83, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 3, while vacationing in Hudson, Fla.
She was born in Pittsfield on Jan. 12, 1932, the daughter of Earl and Eva Cram Rogers. She lived most of her life in South Paris and Norway and worked in the office at C.B. Cummings & Sons for 27 years.
Evelyn dedicated many years as a missionary, working with teenagers at The Fold in Lyndonville, Vt., and managing a home for retired missionaries at African Inland Missions in Clermont, Fla.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Linda Chandler and husband, Brad, of Livermore Falls, and Kathy Neary and fiance, Roy Gilmore, of Norway; daughter-in-law, Nancy Kuvaja of South Paris; grandchildren, Kelly Schanz of Cornville, April Barker of South Paris, Tim Chandler of Pleasant Hill, Mo., and Mark Neary of Norway; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, Caraline; sister, Amy Andrews and husband, Earl, of Norway; and sister-in-law, Gloria Rogers of Augusta.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Alpo Kuvaja; husband, Walter Haverinen; son, Peter Kuvaja; and brother, Richard Rogers.
