1939 – 2015

AUBURN — Madeline M. Bernier, 76, of Pineland Street in Lewiston, died on Saturday, May 9, at the Hospice House with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Jan. 28, 1939, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy (Angelosante) Fisher. She was educated in Lewiston schools, attending St. Joseph’s Elementary and Lewiston High School.

Madeline married her husband of 49 years, Richard A. Bernier, on Aug. 14, 1965. She worked for 9 years at Hall & Knight in Lewiston and was also a devoted housewife.

She enjoyed traveling, eating out, playing cards and watching musical and comedy movies.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; a son, Paul; a brother, Joe Fisher of California; nieces, Joanne and Janet Fisher; a nephew, Steve and his wife, Nicole Fisher, of California; and cousins, Marlene Day, Michael Angelosante and his wife, Barbara, of Old Orchard Beach, and Jimmy and his wife, Ann, of Washington.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude and many thanks to the Hospice House and home health staff. Their caring and compassion is truly amazing.
