1945 – 2015
AUBURN — Roland G. Morin, 70, son of the late George and Eva Morin, born on March 30, 1945, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, surrounded by his loved ones at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn, after losing his long battle with cancer.
Roland served six honorable years in the National Guard, followed by 37 years at Bath Iron Works before retiring. He dedicated his life to the well-being and happiness of his family. Nothing could compare to the light in his eyes when spending time with those he loved; it was his greatest accomplishment. Roland was the most caring, compassionate and generous man you would have ever met, a friend to all those who ever crossed his path. This year, he celebrates 50 unwavering years of devotion, married to the love of his life, Jackie.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Morin; his daughters, Debra Tanguay, Tina Fournier and Lisa Herrick; his sons-in-law, Roger Tanguay and Jerry Fournier; his daughter-in-law, Nancy Herrick; six grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan, Meagan, Shane, Aspen and Gage; two great-grandchildren, Austen and Zechariah; four brothers, Armand, Arthur, Marcel and Paul; and two sisters, Jeannine and Pauline.
He is predeceased by his mother and father; his brothers, Charlie and Roger Morin; and a sister, Lorraine Cote.
