1921 – 2015
LEWISTON — Lucille Ledoux, 93, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, at d’Youville Pavilion, where she had received excellent and loving care since March 2012.
Born in Lewiston on July 21, 1921, she was the oldest of 12 children of Joseph and Yvonne Verreault. She was a graduate of Holy Family School and attended Lewiston High School.
On Sept. 4, 1944, she married Albert Ledoux.
Following Albert’s death on Feb. 1, 1981, Lucille embraced life as a single woman. She cultivated friendships, entertained, volunteered and traveled to her children’s homes, where she enjoyed her grandchildren. In 1996, she moved from Lewiston to live in Biddeford. There, she reinvented her life by making dear friends and becoming active in the Daughters of Isabella and the Red Hat Society.
Lucille is survived by her six children, William, Denis, Claire (Dick), Rachel (Perry), Joline (Pothier) and Michele (Hession); and 19 grandchildren, William and Christopher Ledoux, Jacqueline Ledoux Ouellette, Zoé and Maxim Blowen-Ledoux, Ileshea Dick Stowe, Seth and Matthew Dick, and Katie Dick Fitzpatrick, Nathaniel and Benjamin Perry, Jillian Pothier Curreri, Jenelle Pothier Tomazin and Jonna Pothier Demeo, Samuel and Liam Hession, Stephanie Featherman Regan and Justin and Jana Featherman. She also leaves 25 great-grandchildren; and five children-in-law, Claudette Bonenfant Featherman Ledoux, Stephen Dick, Edward Perry, John Pothier and Joseph Hession. She is survived by her brothers Normand, Eugène and Roger; and her sister, Thérèse Lagacé.
She was predeceased by Carole Harty Ledoux and Martha Blowen; her brothers, Robert, Marcel, Réginald, Réné, Richard and Paul; and her sister, Gertrude.
