LEWISTON — Attorney Elliott Epstein has become Of Counsel to the Lewiston law firm of Andrucki & King, where his practice will focus on civil litigation. Epstein, who was a partner at Isaacson & Raymond until 2008 and more recently at Pickus & Epstein in Portland, joined Andrucki & King on May 1.

He has been a Maine trial and appellate lawyer since 1978, handling a broad spectrum of cases before state and federal courts and before administrative boards, involving divorce and custody, business and contract disputes, employment discrimination, personal injury and professional malpractice, intellectual property, securities, broker-customer disputes, probate contests and real estate and land use issues. He has also served as an arbitrator and mediator. He holds the highest attorney peer rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

He is a past member of the editorial advisory committee of the Maine Bar Journal and has contributed numerous articles to that publication. He has been a frequent presenter at continuing legal education seminars and was formerly a member of the Civil Rules Advisory Committee to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.

Epstein lives in Auburn and has been active in civic affairs and nonprofit organizations in the Lewiston-Auburn area, including membership on the board of Museum L-A, which he founded in 1994. He writes “Rearview Mirror,” an award-winning column on current affairs for the Sun Journal, and in 2010 he published the book, “Lucifer’s Child,” which explored the causes and implications of domestic abuse through a brutal 1984 child murder in Auburn. He formerly served on the Auburn School Committee and Planning Board. He is also a musician who plays trumpet with the Auburn Community Concert Band.
