AUGUSTA — A woman’s body was recovered from the Kennebec River early Friday afternoon, according to the Maine Marine Patrol.
The body, which has not been identified, was found floating about 20 yards from shore near the Pittston side of the river, across from Westerlands Landing in South Gardiner, according to a marine patrol statement.
The marine patrol has searched the river since March 21, when Kelly Voytasko of Augusta disappeared and is believed to have gone into the river.
The state medical examiner’s office will work to identify the body.
No other information was released.
