ANDOVER — Selectmen voted 3-0 Tuesday night to solicit bids for fuel prices for 2015-16 and scheduled a workshop for Saturday morning to review changes to two property tax maps.
Board of Selectmen Chairman Jim Adler said that last year, town buildings used 5,600 gallons of No. 2 heating oil and town vehicles used 4,040 gallons of diesel fuel. Bids must be received at the Town Office by June 23 because selectmen will open them that night.
Selectman Keith Farrington told Adler and Selectman Jane Rich that he received two maps on which changes suggested at a recent public hearing had been made. However, before the board could approve the changes, he recommended it review them first.
Adler scheduled a workshop for it at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Town Office.
Farrington said that a previous lot labeled as unknown on a tax map is now known and its owner will be assigned a tax card and tax for the property.
The board also appointed five residents to the Recreation Committee. They are Carol Emery, Paul Hutchins, Katie Benson, Susan Mills and Claire Sessions. Adler said it “was good news” that the board was able to fill the committee.
In other business, selectmen OK’d a contractor’s policy, a Freedom of Access Act policy and a proposed consent agreement for a shoreland zoning violation with lawyer fees totaling $4,356.55.
