BOWDOIN — Police say a Bowdoin man has died after the dump truck he was repairing rolled on top of him.

Sagadahoc County Sherriff Joel Merry says 65-year-old Alcide Castonguay, formerly of Sabattus, was found under the vehicle at his home by a passer-by who was walking past the home at about 5:30 p.m. Monday. He had been working on the truck alone and may have been there for several hours.

A neighbor reported talking to him at about 1 p.m.

The passer-by called 911.

Castonguay had been working on the truck’s transmission. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
