1933 – 2015

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — Romeo A. “Meo” Leclair, DDS, 81, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., died peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, at his home, with his wife, Terri, by his side, after losing his battle with diabetes.

He was born in Chisolm on June 21, 1933, the son of Lucien and

Adrienne (Fortier) Leclair. He attended St. Louis Grammar School in Auburn, and graduated from Edward Little High School with the Class of 1951.

After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and completed the last of his four-year tour at Loring Air Force Base in northern Maine.

After his military duty, he attended Western Reserve University, School of Medicine, in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating in 1964 with a medical degree in dentistry. He then moved his family to Cupertino, Calif., and opened his dental practice in 1965. After several years in general dentistry, he decided to attend orthodontic school in San Francisco. Soon after his graduation, he opened his orthodontic practice in Saratoga, Calif., and remained there until his retirement, several years ago. After his retirement, he and Terri moved to Sierra Vista, Ariz., where he remained until his death.

Meo enjoyed playing golf, morning coffee with his military friends, and camping, often leaving on extended trips with Terri to visit his sons, Michael and Jeff; his stepson, David Green; and his stepdaughter, Toni. Meo also enjoyed very much spending time with his family whenever possible.

He is survived by his wife, Terri (Green); his sons, Michael and Jeff; his stepdaughter, Toni; his brother, Rene and wife, Irene, in Sammamish, Wash.; his sister, Louise, and husband, Roland Rancourt Jr., in Auburn; and his former wife, Priscilla (Collette) Welch of Oregon. He also leaves behind several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Stephen; his stepson, David; and brothers, Maurice and Danny.
