1937 – 2015
FARMINGTON, N.H. — David Wayne James Sr., 78, of Farmington, N.H., died Saturday, April 18, in Rochester, N.H.
He was born March 29, 1937, in Jay, the son of Charles Elbridge and Hazel Amy (Smith) James. On Oct. 29, 1955, David married Faye Anita (Richards) James. They have eight children, 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He worked in various shoe shops and construction companies.
As a youngster, he played semi-pro sports. He was a state champ of horseshoe-pitching, and ran various horseshoe leagues. David truly had a great voice and played in various bands in his younger years. As he got older, he enjoyed playing music with his son-in-law, Brian Daudelin.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, horseshoe-pitching, all Boston sports teams and NASCAR racing.
He was a loving husband and father, whose greatest joy was his family, especially his loving wife, Faye.
He is survived by his wife, Faye; a sister, Helen Hall of Jay; and all his children, David Jr., Peter, Kathy, Cynthia, Vicky, Jeffrey, Robert and Theodore.
He was predeceased by parents; grandchild, Timothy Williams; and siblings, Esther, Christine, Ruth, C. Kenneth, Richard, Merton, Myrtle, John and Pearl.
