Coach: Brian Dube (fourth year)

Conference: KVAC Class: B

Last year’s record: 7-9

Returning players: Senior — Bradley Hodges (1B); Juniors — Ian O’Donnell (C/P); Sebastian Lombardi (3B/P); Sophomores — Nate Goodine (SS/CF), Noah Preble (LF/CF), Austin Gilboe (P/2B).

Key losses: Scottie Hall, Lucas Preble, John McKenna, Brandon Stearns.

Promising newcomers: Senior — Matt Vigue (CF/SS), Anthony York (3B/P), Shane Missler (OF); Sophomore — Caulin Parker (OF/C).

Season outlook: It’s a tough year for the Phoenix to transition into the Class B-dominated KVAC, with only 13 players on the roster and pitching experience at a premium. Vigue and York’s return to the field will provide a boost. Hodges led the 2014 team in RBIs. Goodine, Preble and Gilboe all saw time in the lineup as freshmen. If the Phoenix put the pieces together, the beefed-up schedule could provide the Heal Points needed for a playoff push.
