BRIDGTON — Bridgton Hospital will present a two-part community education program for those living with congestive heart failure from 3 to 5 p.m. on April 9 and 16.

On April 9, registered nurses Nancy Murphy and June Inman will introduce the program and discuss goals and resources that can be helpful in dealing with congestive heart failure. Cardiologist Alan Langburd will discuss the disease process, and its signs and symptoms.

Langburd practices with Bridgton Hospital Specialty Clinics and previously served as director of cardiac rehabilitation at the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute in Lewiston.

Wrapping up the first session will be registered respiratory therapist Gloria Morris, who will address respiratory health and sleep apnea.

On April 16, dietitian Linda Russell will begin the class by going over diet and heart health, focusing on how diet affects CHF and what you can do to improve your eating habits. Pharmacist Denyell Gerchman will also talk about medications and heart failure and Nancy Murphy and June Inman will wrap up the program by reviewing key concepts.

Classes will be held in the Bridgton Physicians Group Conference Room in the old hospital building. Entrance is located at the extreme right side of the building.

To register for these classes, call 647-6050.
