FARMINGTON — Bail was set Monday for two New Sharon residents charged with running a methamphetamine lab in their home.

Daniel Villacci, 38, and Tabatha Schoubroek, 30, were arrested Friday and appeared in Franklin County Unified Court on Monday.

Facing a charge of aggravated trafficking of an illegal drug, Villacci had bail set at  $50,000 cash by Judge Rick Lawrence.

Schoubroek had bail set at $20,000 cash or $40,000 worth of property on the same charge.

Both also face misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child and violating conditions of release. Bail conditions include no use or possession of drugs and no contact with the children or each other.

Police said the couple purchased pseudoephedrine, an ingredient in the methamphetamine manufacturing process, according to court documents. When police went Friday to interview the couple and serve a search warrant, they found components of a methamphetamine lab at the 545 Farmington Falls Road home where two children also reside.

Police also found evidence of a fire that had started around a recent “meth cook,” according to the court record.

The couple violated court orders regarding the children who discovered them unresponsive last April.

Villacci and Schoubroek were indicted last summer on a felony charge of possession of heroin in that incident.

Villacci was convicted Feb. 27 of a felony charge of unlawful possession of an illegal drugs.

In December, the couple were arrested on charges of theft after a Sidney company claimed the two had charged more than $6,000 on its credit card, officials said. Those charges are still pending.
