Charleston, S.C. — Jeffrey Mark Potter Watts died in the home of his brother on Wednesday, March 25, in Charleston, S.C., due to complications following kidney cancer. He was 53.
Jeffrey was born on Feb. 18, 1962, in Somers Point, N.J., to his parents, Art and Gwen Potter. He graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in English and theater in 1994.
He taught high school in Maine for 15 years before moving to New York to pursue a career in theater. After battling cancer for several years he moved to Charleston, S.C., to live with his brothers.
Jeff is survived by his mother and four brothers.
He is preceded in death by his father and one brother, who died at the age of 6.
