1960 – 2015
STRATTON — Carl Baade Shorey, 54, of Coplin Plantation, beloved husband, son, brother and friend, died suddenly of a heart attack on Wednesday, March 25.
Carl was born July 27, 1960, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth Shorey of Scarborough. Carl was a genuine jack-of-all-trades, and a master of many. He worked in various types of construction for many years. Most recently, Carl and his wife, Liz, began and operated a new business — Good Dog Firewood.
Carl is survived by his wife of 11 years, Elisabeth (Liz) Remsen. He is also survived by his father, Raymond Shorey of Oquossoc; and siblings, Susan Shorey of Portland, Stephen Shorey of Monticello, N.Y., Rusty Shorey of Oquossoc, Brian Shorey of Oquossoc, and Katherine (Brat) Shorey of Stratton; three nieces; two nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Baade Shorey.
Carl was always more than willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family. He enjoyed being outdoors, and was devoted to his Rottweilers ( his “good dogs”). He loved relaxing at home with his wife, Liz, their dogs and the buds.
Condolences, tributes and a memorial video may be shared on Carl’s memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com.
