LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens met for their monthly meeting on Monday, March 2, and enjoyed a potluck luncheon.

Since the group did not meet in February due to the weather, members were recognized for their February and March birthdays and enjoyed birthday cake.

Before the meeting, President Roger Labbe introduced Robin Andrews, dining site team leader for the Nutrition Program at SeniorsPlus. Robin spoke about the Around Town Program, which is part of the SeniorsPlus nutrition program. She told members that participants may obtain a voucher from SeniorsPlus for a requested donation of $5. They may go to a participating restaurant and order any meal from a predetermined “Around Town” menu. Anyone older 60 or adults younger than 60 with disabilities are eligible for the program.

Georgette Berube and David Lepage were crowned Valentine King and Queen. They each received a box of chocolates.

The Monday, April 6, meeting will feature Carmen Carney, elder service specialist from SeniorsPlus, speaking about the Farm Share program, and Sherie Blumenthal, St. Mary’s Nutrition Center marketing coordinator, discussing the local farmers markets.

On April 25, the seniors will be holding their annual fundraiser at the Lewiston Armory. Mr. Drew and His Animals Too will entertain children and their families. This is a great opportunity for children to learn about different animal species and even have a chance to touch them and get their picture taken with them. • Nov. 30-Dec. 2: White Mountain Hotel Christmas Tour with meals, three Christmas shows and an Austrian sleigh ride.
