PORTLAND (AP) — Gas prices have fallen 7.4 cents a gallon in Maine in the past week.

Gasoline price-monitoring website GasBuddy.com reports Monday that the average cost of a gallon of gas in Maine is down to $2.37.

Maine gas prices are 6.6 cents per gallon higher than in the past month, but still about $1.24 lower per gallon than at this time last year.

The price per gallon in Maine is 5 cents below the national average.

The Maine price is based on a survey of more than 1,200 gas stations.
