Fun in French to be held at the Franco Center
LEWISTON — The winter session of Fun in French at the Franco Center will end with a special program for parents, grandparents and caregivers of young children interested in bringing up their children in an environment where multiple languages are used. This free event will be held at the Franco Center on Saturday, March 28, at 9 a.m. The 90-minute program called “How to Raise a Bilingual Child: A Few Parents’ Perspective” will be presented by Memarie Christoforo and friends. Memarie, the creator of “Spanish through Movement,” has a Bachelors and Masters in Spanish Language and Literature.
While parents, grandparents and caregivers participate in this program and learn techniques for including languages into their child-rearing routine, children will be entertained in French with some activities from the French Heritage Language Program curriculum, which consists of songs, movements, games and story-creation. Sixth St. Congregational Church Holy Week Schedule
AUBURN — Sixth St. Congregational Church at 109 Sixth St. in Auburn will hold several special services during Holy Week, conducted by the Rev. Patricia Jones. A Maundy Thursday service will be held on Thursday, April 2, at 5 p.m. On Good Friday, April 3, the church will be open from noon to 1 p.m. for prayer and remembrance. There will be music, time for quiet reflection and scripture reading. There will be a free breakfast on Easter Sunday, April 5, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The Easter Sunday worship service will begin at 10 a.m.
Real estate sales agent course offered
TURNER — Ever thought about a career in real estate? If so, then this is the class for you. The Maine Real Estate Commission has approved this course as meeting all of the education requirements necessary to obtain a sales agent license in Maine. After successful completion of this course, the student must pass a standardized state test prior to applying for their state sales agent license. This course is presented by the Arthur Gary School of Real Estate.
The Arthur Gary School of Real Estate was established in 1991 with the founding concept of providing quality education that is interesting, fun and useful. The school has received recognition from the Real Estate Educators Association of Maine for “Real Estate Course of the Year” for four different courses for four years. School instructors have received recognition as the Real Estate Educators Association of Maine’s “Educator of the Year” for two years.

Play and Learn to be offered at APL
AUBURN — As part of the Family Place Initiative at the Auburn Public Library, we will be holding a free parenting/playgroup series for parents and their young children, ages 1-3. Our next session begins on Friday, April 3, and will run for four weeks through Friday, April 24, The sessions will be held in the Androscoggin Community Room and run from 10 to 11:15 a.m.
Play and Learn is designed to familiarize parents and their young children, ages 12 to 36 months, with library and community services. It will give parents the chance to spend time with their child while meeting other families with young children. Play, sing, create a craft and learn to have fun with your child. Community resource professionals will be on hand to discuss topics such as reading readiness, nutrition, dental care and behavior.

Eagles to hold potluck supper April 3
LEWISTON — A potluck supper and 50/50 raffle will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 3, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 618, 1327 Sabattus St. Donations will benefit the Barbara Bush Children’s Fund.
A dance and karaoke will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. with music by DJ Jean Louis. Members and guests are welcome.
Ladies Auxiliary to hold monthly dinners
GRAY — The Ladies Auxiliary will hold monthly dinners from 5 to 6 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month at American Legion Post 86, Route 100. The next dinner is April 4.
The all-you-can-eat meal includes beans, hot dogs, coleslaw, bread and chop suey.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
Knights plan bean, casserole supper
SABATTUS — The Knights of Columbus of the Our Lady of the Rosary Parish will sponsor a baked beans and casserole supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at Maxwell-Gill Hall, adjacent to Our Lady of the Rosary, 131 High St.
Note the one-time change from the first Saturday of the month, due to Easter.
Proceeds will benefit parish programs. Contributions for the complete supper including desserts and beverages are $8 for adults, $4 for children under 12.
