RUMFORD — Another season at Black Mountain will wind down March 28 and 29 with Family Fun Weekend, marketing director Deanna Kersey said Thursday.
The event will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday with a timed race for children down the novice trail. From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., skiers and snowboarders can participate in a tug of war.
“Saturday will also feature the relay race,” Kersey said. “Teams of four will race down the mountain while carrying a cup of water.”
There will also be a snow sculpture competition; participants should call Black Mountain to reserve a pile of snow.
On Sunday, March 29, a costume parade will be held at 11 a.m. Participants should make their own costume, and not buy one from a store, Kersey said.
A pond skimming contest will cap off the Sunday events. Skiers and snowboarders seek how far they can go across a small pool of water.
