Oxford Duplicate Bridge Club
OXFORD — Oxford Duplicate Bridge Club met March 6. A five-table Howell movement was enjoyed.
Finishing first in flight A were Neenie Kivus (Lewiston) and David Lock (Greene), second were Ed Bower Jr. (Parsonsfield) and Mike True (Auburn), third were Norma and Rick Verrill (Gorham) who also were first in flight B, fourth in A were Dick Allen (New Gloucester) and Pete Cummings (South Paris).
Finishing second in flight B were B.J. and Steve Cavicchi (Bridgton) who were also first in flight C, third in B were Carol Curran (Waterford) and Denny Raymond (Waterford) who also were second in flight C, fourth in B were Diane and Jim Fallon (Bridgton) who also were third in flight C.

Lewiston Bridge Club winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on March 9 were as follows: first, Paul Clement and Rosemarie Goodwin; second, Henry Lerette and Paul Mitnik; third, Jan and Vern Arey.
Winners on March 10 were: first/second tie, Jan and Vern Arey with Les Buzzell and Mike True; third, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; first in B, Hazel Glazier and Pete Cummings; second, Norma and Rick Verrill.
Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are welcomed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for more information.
The Weary Club Coffee
NORWAY — The members and friends of The Weary Club will meet for coffee from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 21.
There will be coffee and something sweet. Celebrate the first full day of spring.
Hebron Historical Society meeting
HEBRON — Beverly Robbins will address the next Hebron Historical Society meeting and describe the Rules for Women in the Victorian Era.
Robbins will appear in period costume. Her presentation will be at the Hebron Town Office, 351 Paris Road, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24. The public is invited.
Senior luncheon at Anderson Staples
OXFORD — On Tuesday, March 24, a senior luncheon will be held at the post home of Anderson Staples Post 112 on King Street.
The festivities will begin at noon. There will be music, cards and door prizes.
Anyone is invited to attend. A small donation will be accepted.

DUV to install officers
NORWAY — The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861-1865 Hannah F. Richardson Tent 19, Stoneham, met Feb. 25 at the home of Kim Hansen for the first meeting of the new year.
Due to small attendance, installation will be held at the meeting on Wednesday, March 25, at the home of Marilyn Jones in Norway.
Potluck, concert at Grace Fellowship
OXFORD — Grace Fellowship Church of 29 Poplar St. will host a potluck dinner and concert to raise money for the building fund, at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 27.
The concert will feature Teresa Foye of Pittston, Julian and Pauline Blais of Lewiston and Phil McGee of Standish, to name a few.
Following the concert a drawing will be held to give away gift baskets. The cost for the evening is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
‘Sensational Spring’ supper in Casco
CASCO — The Sensational Spring Saturday Night Supper will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Casco Village Church United Church of Christ, 941 Meadow Road (Route 121).
It’s a traditional “spring fling-out-the-winter-blues” supper with homemade baked beans, casseroles, crisp salads, rolls and butter, cold drinks, hot coffee and homemade pies. Cost is $8 adults, $5 children 8 and under and $21 max for families with young children.
After supper, shop for cool winter and sizzling spring specials in the “Wings ‘N Things” Clothing and Accessories Thrift Shop downstairs in the Disciples’ Den.
Corned beef supper at Amvets
PARIS — A public corned beef supper, sponsored by Amvets Post 777, will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at VFW Post 9787, Lower Main St.
Cost is $8; children 12 and under, $4.
Longaberger bingo March 29
NORWAY — Responsible Pet Care will hold Longaberger bingo Sunday, March 29, at Norway Legion Hall, Main Street.
Doors open at 11 a.m. Bingo starts at 12:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for 16 games of regular bingo. There will be coverall games, raffle baskets, a 50/50 raffle and refreshments.

Tuba concert at West Paris Library
WEST PARIS — On Sunday, March 29, at 2 p.m. at the West Paris Library, the tuba ensemble, Low Commotion, will present a concert which is free and open to everyone.
Low Commotion, which was formed in 2013, is an ensemble of euphoniums (tenor tubas) and full-sized tubas. The ensemble has performed many concerts in the Portland area. The concert will feature music from jazz and rock to the classical.
Soloist for the concert is James Bennett, a West Paris resident, performing Gardell Simon’s classic cornet solo, “Atlantic Zephyrs” on the euphonium.
Sponsored by the Friends of the West Paris Library, refreshments will be served following the concert. For more information, call 674-2004.
SeniorsPlus seeking volunteers
LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus is looking for volunteers in Oxford and Franklin Counties to serve in their communities as a Medicare Counselor.
If you like numbers, research and want to make a difference in people’s lives, this opportunity is for you.
SeniorsPlus needs volunteers to meet with Medicare beneficiaries one-on-one to assist in Medicare enrollment, changing plans and understanding the basics of Medicare; as well as speaking to groups to help educate them about Medicare basics.
