1928 – 2015

AUBURN — Therese A. Doyon passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 5, at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn after a long illness.

Born in Saint-Victor, Quebec, Canada, on April 28, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Napoleon and Leocadie (Poulin) Fortin.

In 1947, she married Benoit Doyon and moved to Auburn. There, they raised their family and worked in the shoe industry. She was a member of the Auburn Catholic community.

Therese loved her family, especially her sister, Marielle Rodrigue, who was by her side her entire life.

Survivors include one daughter, Contance Laneuville, a resident at Mount Saint Joseph Home in Waterville; two granddaughters, Kristine Stevens and family of Jackman, and Shirley Douglas and family of Gorham; her sister, Marielle Rodrigue of Auburn; and brother, Gaetan Fortin of Saint-Alfred, Quebec, Canada; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Benoit Doyon; her daughter, Laurianne Anctil; her son, Conrad Doyon; and her siblings, Germaine, Cecile, Henry Paul, Franoise, Victor, Clement, Marcel, Rose, Carmelle and Ghislaine.
