CASCO — The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday released a sketch of the suspect wanted for entering a Casco home Monday evening and violently beating the 31-year-old resident.
Sheriff’s deputies went to Timbuktu Drive, off Tenney Hill Road, at 6:10 p.m. Monday for a report that an unknown man had arrived at the home, knocked on the door and then violently beat the man inside almost to the point of unconsciousness, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.
The alleged victim’s girlfriend was present at the time of the attack and was not injured.
The injured man was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he remained hospitalized Wednesday afternoon with serious facial and shoulder injuries.
No weapons are believed to have been used in the attack.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, 25 to 35 years old, 6 feet, 2 inches to 6 feet, 4 inches tall, with short brown hair and a neatly-trimmed beard and mustache. He allegedly was wearing a long, black trench coat at the time of the assault.
