Cheer Boosters plan bottle drive
LEWISTON — Lewiston High School Cheer Boosters will hold a bottle drive from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 7, to raise money for the cheerleaders to attend and compete at the New England Spirit Championships in Lawrence, Mass.
The team is the reigning three-time title holder and members are excited to return and show all of New England its amazing athletes.
Donations can be brought to Roopers on Lisbon Street. To arrange for pickup, call Patti Regner, fundraising coordinator, at 207-385-7535.
Franco veterans to meet Tuesday
LEWISTON — Franco American War Veterans Post 31 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, in the Seniors Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.
The post is looking for new members. Any veteran who was honorably discharged and can get their DD-214, SF-91 discharge are offered free membership for the first year.
Swingin’ Bears plan March 14 dance
PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will hold a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Oxford Hills Middle School, 100 Pine St.
Welcome spring with Ray Hilton, yodling club caller who will present a Mainstream and Plus dance. Carol Arsenault will be the round dance cuer.
Refreshments will be served at intermission. There will be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
Admission is $6 per person. Non-dancers are welcome at no charge.

Dinner, dance aids Chief Sturtevant
MECHANIC FALLS — A fundraising event to benefit Mechanic Falls Fire Dept. Chief Fred Sturtevant will take place Saturday, March 14, at the Silver Spur, 272 Lewiston St. A pasta buffet will be from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by a dance from 8 p.m. to midnight.
There will be a silent auction, cash bar and T-shirts for sale. Cost is $7 for dinner, $10 dance or $15 for both. All tickets purchased at the door.

Everything Maple Supper in Minot
MINOT — West Minot Grange will host an Everything Maple Supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 14.
Menu will include three kinds of beans (Jacob’s cattle, pea and yellow eye), American chop suey, cole slaw, hot dogs, yeast rolls, biscuits and cornbread. Dessert will be ice cream with maple syrup and maple cupcakes.
Price will be $8 all you can eat, $2 for children under 6. Funds will benefit the Grange building fund. Food is being cooked by Village Trading Post, West Minot Sugar House.

Amvets plan public dance on March 14
NEW GLOUCESTER — A public dance will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Amvet Hall Post 6.
