Sabattus Seniors to meet March 5

SABATTUS — Sabattus Seniors will be having its next meeting on March 5. The meal will be beef stew. RSVP by calling Pauline at 375-4037 to sign up or cancel. Deadline for signups or cancellations is Feb. 26. If schools are closed because of inclement weather, there will be no meeting. Notification will be also be announced on Channel 6. Sixth Street to host baked bean supper

AUBURN — There will be a baked bean supper at Sixth Street Congregational Church at 109 Sixth St. in Auburn on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The menu consists of two kinds of beans, brown bread, cole slaw, hot dogs, American chop suey and assorted desserts and beverages. The cost of the meal is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for children under the age of 5. All are welcome.

Food pantry in search of needed items

AUBURN — The Auburn United Methodist Church is requesting the following items, which are needed on a weekly basis at the High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry: peanut butter, toilet paper and pasta sauce. Items can be dropped off at the Church Office at 439 Park Ave. If you have questions about the pantry, please contact the Church Office at 782-3972. Lewiston Fortier Council monthly meeting to be held

Crazy 8’s Math Club Returns to APL

AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library is pleased to offer another session of Bedtime Math’s Crazy 8’s Math Club for children in grades 3 through 5, beginning on Thursday, March 5, from 4 to 5 p.m. through Thursday, April 23. Crazy 8’s Math Club is designed to make math fun. Kids will jump, run, build things and make a mess, all while learning cool math concepts. Some of this season’s sessions include Rings of Fire, Ninja Training, Pirate Treasure Hunt and UFO Landing, just to name a few. Come join the fun. CMCC offers QuickBooks course

AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer Introduction to QuickBooks on Tuesday mornings, March 17 through April 14, from 10 a.m. to noon.

QuickBooks is the one of the most popular small-business computer accounting packages available. This course will be taught using QuickBooks Premier 2011, although many of the skills and processes learned will be transferable to other version of QuickBooks. Class participants will learn how to set up an accounting system, manage accounts payable and receivable functions, create invoices, print checks and create financial statements. While there are no prerequisites, a basic understanding of Microsoft Windows is recommended.

Registration for this course is open and ongoing, but space is limited. The cost is $99, including a powerful textbook resource that participants will keep and be able to refer to after the training. St. Anne Sodality to meet

LEWISTON — St. Anne Sodality of Prince of Peace Parish, Holy Family, will be holding their General Membership meeting on Wednesday March 18, at 6 p.m. at the Parish Hall. The doors will be open at 5:30 p.m.

There will be an officer and counselor election and a short business meeting. The entertainment for the evening will be a game of “Lets Make a Deal.” Members are encouraged to bring a friend.

Refreshments will be served by Flo Marquis.
