CASCO — An apparent case of road rage sent one vehicle into the water and three people to the hospital on Monday.
According to a news release from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a report of erratic driving between two vehicles traveling westbound on Route 302 in Casco at 1:10 p.m.
Prior to their arrival, one of the vehicles crashed into the Crooked River at the Casco and Naples line.
The release said three occupants were in the vehicle that went into the river and that all three were able to free themselves and swim to land. They were taken to Bridgton Hospital for minor injuries and hypothermia.
The sole occupant of the other vehicle was uninjured and remained at the scene. The release said the investigation is being handled as a criminal matter, but no charges have been filed at this time and no further details are being released at the moment.

UPDATED 1:52 P.M.: CASCO —The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office reports that a vehicle crashed into the Crooked River on Route 302.
The river separates Casco and Naples near Hillside Avenue.
There are no reports of injuries.
