I recently got an email forwarded to me regarding ASLL changing its name and although I tried contacting them with specific information, I am finding it hard to get info on specific registration costs. Is it still Little League? If not, what is difference? What are the areas for NALL and ASLL? I have t-ballers up to minors and hate to split between leagues. Any help in finding specific information would be helpful. Thank you. — Anonymous reader.

ANSWER: Sun Spots has done much research to find a contact person for the local little leagues. One contact gave me the name of another contact who gave me the name of another contact who did not respond to Sun Spots’ query. Perhaps a reader will know who you can contact to get answers to your questions. Keep in mind that the local little leagues usually run advertisements in the Sun Journal for registration and those ads should have contact information.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Does anyone know the words to “Little Susie Snowflake, tap, tapping at the window”? Thanks so much. — Lewiston reader.

ANSWER: The Christmas song, made popular by Rosemary Clooney in 1951, was written by Roy C. Bennett and Sid Tepper. It is a yuletide favorite that has since been recorded by dozens of other artists. Here are the lyrics:

Here comes Suzy Snowflake; Dressed in a snow white gown; Tap, tap, tappin’ at your windowpane; To tell you she’s in town.

Here comes Suzy Snowflake; Soon you will hear her say; Come out everyone and play with me: I haven’t long to stay.

If you wanna make a snowman; I’ll help you make one, one, two three; If you wanna take a sleigh ride; The ride’s on me.

Here comes Suzy Snowflake; Look at her tumblin’ down; Bringing joy to every girl and boy; Suzy’s come to town.

These four lines are repeated in a second refrain to complete the song.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I recently came across some old family quilts that were carefully packed away many years ago, only to find that they were filled with mold and mildew. Would anyone in the area know how to clean these quilts while still preserving them? — Reader in Auburn.

ANSWER: Sun Spots suggests speaking with a professional dry cleaner for solutions to laundering the baptismal outfit and the quilt. After speaking with a few sources for an answer, it seems that is the best route to go. While there are special products that can be purchased for vintage clothing and quilts, it’s still risky and there is no guarantee that your material won’t fall apart. The dry cleaner may be able to inspect the fabric and offer other suggestions rather than using a washing machine.
