LEWISTON — Lake Region’s Kate Hall may have completed her final Class B indoor track and field state meet, but her name will live on in the record books. 

Hall accounted for all 30 of her team’s points, adding to two state records she already owns tying another in her three events as the Lakers finished fourth Monday at Bates College. Hall outperformed 24 teams in the 28-team field. 

The Lake Region senior tied the state record she set last year in the 55-meter dash, finishing in 7.05 seconds. She won by 0.39. 

Her day was just beginning as she dominated both the 200 dash and the long jump. Hall claimed the 200 dash by 1.60 over Orono’s Lauren Stoops, crossing the finish line in 25.17. She broke her old state record of 25.36 in the process. Her performance in the long jump was even more dominating. Hall’s top jump of 19 feet, 6.5 inches was 3-1.50 further than her nearest competitor and 0-2.75 further than her previous state record. 

Despite her best efforts, she couldn’t push the Lakers to a state title. Waterville claimed the championship with 74.83 points. Greely was second with 59.33 points. Gray-New Gloucester finished 18th with six points. 

The Patriots’ points all came in the shot put. Tram Ho and Emily Dawkins finished fourth and sixth, respectively. Ho had a top throw of 32-6.50, while Dawkins’ best toss registered at 29-3.50. 

The boys’ title belonged to York. The Wildcats accumulated 71 points, winning three events. Their relays finished first in the 4×800 and second in the 4×200. York’s other first-place finishers were Colt Santoro in the 55 hurdles (8.04) and Tucker Corbett in the 400 dash (51.69). 

Old Town (59), Belfast (47), Mt. Desert Island (46) and Waterville (35) rounded out the top five. Gray-New Gloucester cracked the top 10, finishing ninth with 16 points. 

Adam Dumas and Ben Garcia led the Patriots with second-place showings in their respective track events. Dumas finished the 400 dash in 53.58, while Garcia crossed the finish line in the 2-mile run in 10:05.76.
