Second, could you tell me where the actor Matthew McConaughey’s mother attended high school? Thank you. — Bob Dixon, Norway.

ANSWER: Actually, the stock listing has been there all along. But your confusion is understandable. The symbol for the Delhaize Group SA, the Belgium-based owner of Hannaford, is DEG. But the company calls itself the more cumbersome “Ets Delhaize Freres et cie le Lion SA,” so look for the stock alphabetically in the E section, because the stock name starts with the word “Et.” Questions or requests about the stock market update column which appears in the Sun Journal’s business section, can be directed to mmogensen@sunjournal.com or call 207-689-2805.

In answer to your second question re. Matthew McConaughey’s mother’s high school, Sun Spots learned that his mother, Mary Kathleen “Kay” McCabe, is a former kindergarten/substitute teacher and a book illustrator/author, who is originally from Trenton, NJ. Sun Spots called two phone numbers, one for Matt McConaughey’s publicist and the other for his manager. The person who answered at the agency listed as his publicist said that Matthew is not their client. The other phone just rang and rang. Sun Spots was unable to track down any more information on his mother. Perhaps a reader will know more and can help you.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am looking for someone who purchased a Saladmaster kettle set around 1970-1980 and who no longer uses the electric skillet that came with this set. I need the electric cord for this skillet. Mine works fine except that the cord is quite soft, showing its age. The company tried to get me a new one but they no longer can get this cord. If anyone has one they no longer use or the skillet no longer works, I would be very interested in buying the cord at a reasonable price. Thank you, Mrs. Linwood Richards, Jay, ME. Phone 207-897-3269.

ANSWER: Sun Spots hopes that our readers can help you find a replacement cord. In addition, you could search our classified ads in print or online at www.verican.us/cod6/sunjournal. Saladmaster has a limited lifetime warranty that states: This certifies that your product is warranted by the manufacturer to be free from defects in material, construction, and craftsmanship for the life of the original purchaser. Specific component parts, such as heat control, cord, knob, or handles, are warranted for one year from the date of purchase.

ANSWER FROM READER TO EARLIER QUESTION POSTED IN SUN SPOTS: In the Sun Spots column on Saturday, Jan. 31, there was a question from S.L. in Jay, regarding the entertaining Google images that are displayed on google.com from time to time. These images are officially called “Google Doodles.” Googling that will get you here www.google.com/doodles/ where you can check out any that you may have missed. Also, if you click “About” at the top of the Doodle page you’ll land at www.google.com/doodles/about where the whole story and other trivia behind the Google Doodles is described.
