LIVERMORE — Police are investigating a hit and run Tuesday morning in the Livermore post office parking lot where a Postal Service employee was struck in the leg near the mail drop box by a slow-moving car, Trooper Nathan Jamo said.

When employee Allison Piper, 24, of Peru turned after being struck in the left leg, she told police she noticed an older man leaving the area in an older green Ford Escort, he said. Piper was not able to get the license plate of the car.

The incident occurred at about 9:05 a.m.

It was a very low-speed impact, and it was likely the car did not receive any damage, he said. The investigation is continuing.
