NEW SHARON — The Maine Department of Transportation will hold a meeting Wednesday, Feb. 11, on a traffic movement permit for a proposed 4,800-square-foot convenience store including a Dunkin’ Donuts and six fueling stations on Route 2.

The meeting will be held at 3 p.m. at the Town Office and is open to the public, said Dennis Emidy, a DOT Region 3 traffic engineer.

The meeting is about traffic congestion and safety, he said.

Sidney Realty of Sidney filed the traffic permit application for the project. Annie Manley of Sidney, who owns Annie’s Variety in that town, is proposing the project. Manley previously said she would keep the Sidney store open and name the New Sharon store, if approved, Annie’s Variety.

If the MDOT approves the traffic permit, a site-plan review application would be submitted to the New Sharon Planning Board for consideration.
