LIVERMORE — Town officials are looking for someone to represent the town on the Regional School Unit 73 board until the annual town election in June.

Interested candidates are asked to call the Town Office at 897-3207 by 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, and ask for Administrative Assistant Carrie Castonguay.

The town’s Board of Selectpersons will then appoint someone to the vacant school district position.

The position became vacant after Director Diane Castonguay Gould died on Jan. 20. Her term had been set to expire in 2016 and RSU 73 Superintendent Kenneth Healey asked town officials to find a replacement for her, he said.

The appointed person would fill the term for the next four or five months. Then, the person has the choice of seeking election to a one-year term left on Gould’s three-year term.

There is also a three-year term on the board that will come up for election in June.

The RSU 73 board will begin the budget process with a workshop scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26.

Other meetings include: March 4, overview of regular education costs; March 11, review of costs for transportation, buildings and grounds, debt service, central office; March 18, final review of the proposal by the board; March 26, action by the board on the proposed budget; April 8, town-meeting style public budget vote; April 28, validation of the figure devised at the budget meeting by referendum in each of the three member towns.
