RANGELEY — Police are investigating the theft of two children’s snowmobiles and skis off a full-size snowmobile between Saturday night and Sunday morning, police Chief Dennis Leahy said Monday.
The full-size snowmobile was parked behind the Rangeley Saddleback Inn and the two children’s snowmobiles were parked on the opposite end of the building at the 45th Parallel American BBQ restaurant on Main Street.
The children’s machines are an or orange and black 2011 Polaris 120 snowmobile with the word “assault” in the graphics, and a red and blue 2006 Polaris 120, Leahy said. The snowmobiles belong to a Massachusetts family who came up for the Snodeo, he said.
The machines were last seen at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and were reported missing at 9 a.m. Sunday.
The Simmons Flexi-Skis were taken off an Arctic Sno-Pro snowmobile.
The skis are valued at $600 and the children’s snowmobiles are valued at $4,800.
“We are investigating several leads,” Leahy said.
If anyone has any information about the missing items, they are asked to call the Rangeley Police Department at 864-3579.
