Lahey Bowlfest
The 23th annual Handicap Tournament will take place at Sparetime Rec on Saturday, Jan. 24. An estimated 170 men and women have signed up to compete in the event.
Teams will register at 11:30 a.m. and the action starts at noon.
The tourney was established to honor the memory of Thomas E. Lahey — a local athlete and businessman who passed away Oct. 3, 1987 at age 44.
Since its inception, the Lahey Foundation has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to graduates of Lewiston, Edward Little and St. Dom’s.
Non-bowling friends of Tom Lahey are welcome to visit and socialize at what has become a mid-winter reunion.
OPS meeting
Oxford Plains Dragway will be opening its gates for the 2015 Race Season under new management.
A preliminary Driver’s Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 1, starting at 11 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Oxford so we can meet and see how many of you are interested in racing this summer. But most importantly, we want to hear what the racers have to say.
If you are unable to make this meeting, we still want to know you’re interested in racing this summer.
Please call/text Crystal Lancaster at (207) 754-1022, e-mail her at Chevy_Lady1720@aol.com, or Facebook Message us at https://www.facebook.com/OXFORD.DRAGWAY.
