Somewhere they may fuse with other elements, somewhere the move may change its name but in Auburn it looks as tho the progressives would fight it out under their own flag and their flag alone. At the last meeting of the Auburn progressive city committee the 10 members present were unanimous for “going it straight” in the coming campaign. “Let us stand or fall as progressives,” was the way one man put it. Mayor A. W. Fowles has told his party fellows in Auburn that he will not run again and that nothing they could bring to bear would make him change his opinion. Two other names of possible candidates have been mentioned — Ralph F. Burnham and Herbert W. Getchell, two Auburn druggists. Both are ardent progressives and both are young men.

Aviation officials at the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport are looking for a company to produce a short video “extolling the virtues” of the airport and its host communities. In a move designed to further spark economic development of the area, Airport Manager Marshall A. MacKinen said the video will be made available to government agencies, other municipalities and corporations considering locating near the facility. “It’s going to be a TV-quality promotion video saying gee whiz, look at us,” MacKinen said. Prices for making the video are expected to range from $1,000 to $10,000, he said.
