This is in response to a Washington Post story, “Please don’t tell me I was lucky to be adopted,” that was printed in the B-section of the Sun Journal on Sunday, Jan. 11.
The story may have been a well-written one, but it was inappropriate for adoptive parents to read and hurtful for adopted children. It may never have entered an adopted child to think about who their grandma was, or if there were siblings somewhere which would make him part of a family.
I have an adoptee and he has a family who loves him the same as my biological children.
I pray that the story will not be read by adopted children, who might start thinking of the negatives related in that story. People should think before writing hurtful things for everyone to read.
May God bless mothers who have found a good home for their babies instead of getting an abortion.
